A Spectacular Religious Celebration of Saint Mary Tsion

The Annual Saint Mary Tsion religious celebration was colourfully celebrated at Aksum, with four thousand tourists included, around 1.5 million guests or celebrants both from abroad and from all parts of Ethiopia. According to AtoGebremedhinFitsumBirhan, chief of the Office for Culture and Tourism of the town, there were 19 daily flights to the town and the town had earned around 10 million ETB as revenue and it has motivated the socio-economic activities of the town and has created job opportunities. Furthermore, it has enhanced the development of tourism in the town, ENA has reported.
